Rare earth permanent magnet synchronous motor is the preferred drive motor for electric passenger cars

Thanks to the use of high-performance rare earth permanent magnets, permanent magnet synchronous motors operate more stably and reliably, have a longer service life, and offer higher power density, smaller size, and higher efficiency.
China has obvious advantages in the field of rare-earth permanent magnet motors, with the world's largest rare-earth reserves, and, after more than a decade of development, China has accumulated a number of very strong manufacturers of rare-earth permanent magnets, whose product categories cover all kinds of rare-earth permanent magnet materials required for the production of rare-earth permanent magnet motors.
Professor Shen Jianxin, a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), an authoritative engineering technology organization in the world, believes that "China has established a complete industrial chain and a perfect industrial ecosystem in rare-earth permanent magnet motors, compared with European and American countries, our independently developed rare-earth permanent magnet motors have obvious advantages in both raw material costs and production costs, and in Technical indicators are not inferior to those of developed countries."
Currently, rare earth permanent magnet synchronous motors developed and produced in China have been supplied to many well-known automotive companies, including Fisker Electric Vehicles in the United States and Chery, Wanxiang, Geely, Zotye, Haima, BYD and other automotive brands in China. "Countries around the world are developing green economies, including the promotion of new energy vehicles and electric vehicles. China's rare earth permanent magnet motors are fully capable of meeting the market demand." Professor Shen said.
The application prospect of rare earth permanent magnet motors is very broad. According to the introduction, the electrical energy consumed by the motor accounts for more than 60% of the total electrical energy of the power grid, so the economic value, environmental value and social value of motor efficiency is great, and the rare earth permanent magnet motor is one of the main technical means of motor efficiency. According to Prof. Shen, "Rare earth permanent magnet motors are the first choice for future high-end motor drive systems, which can be widely used in many fields such as transportation and transport, high-end processing equipment and robots, high-efficiency fans and pumps, and white goods. China should continuously improve the performance of rare earth permanent magnet materials and electrical materials, continuously develop motor design technology and drive control technology to meet more market demand for rare earth permanent magnet motors."
